Though being one of the more later member's, I must say it's sad to see one of older Zelda 64 forums closing after being joining this site. I hope flotonic learns a lot though when he goes to UNL.
NOT a Zelda rom hacker anymore. Gone back to Minecraft and Mario World Rom Hacking.

This isn't really one of the "older" Zelda modding sites, as it's only a year or two old as far as I know. That title belongs to ZSO, which opened in 2002, I believe. But I do agree that it will be sad to see Maco shut down.

Close, August 2001 or earlier: https://web.archive.org/web/20011120105611/http://zso.50g.com/

Ah. Why was ZSO shut down, anyways?

As a side note, I've always liked the simplistic HTML look of older websites. ZSO is a good example of that.

There's been a long history of disagreement of users with ZSO's founder, the site and forums getting hacked, then threats of whatever kind... basically a whole lot of drama, I don't remember the exact details.

And I gotta agree with your side note. That kind of look still exists to some extend today, but with more modern underpinnings like, say, Wordpress or some other sort of CMS.

As some of you may know, I have left the rom editing scene, never to return. I will be attending UNL. I will also be getting a job, so I will not have the time to run a community and make all of these projects.

I'm leaving you all in good hands. Sylux102, one of the best Maco staff members, will be carrying on in my stead. His forums are on Zelda64.net. Register there, since this website is archive only.

As for OoT 2D and Izou, I will be leaving those in the hands of GodsTurf's team, Lunar World. If you are fans of these projects, subscribe to them.
